Baby clinic

The baby clinic is held every Wednesday morning at both Miriam and Earlston & Seabank surgeries. An appointment is required.

Child health and immunisation

All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from six weeks old.

Minor surgery

Dr Mantgani has experience of working in this surgical speciality and offers a range of minor surgical procedures such as removals of cysts, skin lesions, drainages of abscesses and hydroceles, and joint injections. These procedures are undertaken at Miriam Medical Centre.

Diabetes

Led by the nurse practitioner offering advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes.

Asthma

Asthma sufferers can make an appointment for advice and support from the nurse practitioner who specialises in asthma care.

Dr Hill (Miriam) and Dr Makin (Earlston & Seabank) carry out a programme of health and development screening in conjunction with the health visitors. Parents are invited to register new babies for child health surveillance that continues until age 5.

Non-NHS work

The surgery offers some medical services which are not available on the NHS (e.g. insurance medicals and HGV medicals). The doctors charge fees for these services. The receptionists will advise you in advance if you request a service for which there is a fee. Accepted methods of payment are cash or cheques with a debit card.
